An interactive seismograph model for 10 to 16 yrs old.
Conceptualising the basic idea of seismograph into robust yet aesthetic science kit. The kit can be used by two kids at a time. Kit should have basic required elements. Manufacturing should be simplified. The kit should be robust yet aesthetically appealing. Kit should work with any kind of pen, pencil or sketch. Client logo should be clearly visible.
Inability of a theory to intuitively explain the principle of some basic instruments.
UNDERSTAND, TRYOUTS AND PROOF OF CONCEPT -
Basic working model is made to understand the working principle. Tryouts are done based on simple architecture. After iterations final product architecture is selected following the proof of concept.
CONCEPTS AND SELECTION -
Out of five proposed concepts, one concept was chosen. Medium fidelity prototype is then made using acrylic as a main material. Freezing of a concept was done with the client and then delivered with certain timeline.
PROTOTYPE AND WORKING -
A Low-fidelity prototype is made using flex board and wires. The Hi-fidelity prototype is finally made up using acrylic as a main body. Transparent side wall informs the user that how much roll has left. Intuitive slot position to place the pen.
